Blog Expectations

My expectation is that you will post a minimum of two times each week that we read The Odyssey, starting next week. The week’s entries are due at the end of the school day on the Friday of the week. So, what that means is that you need: A total of 2 posts by the end of the day April 15 A total of 4 posts by the end of the day April 22 A total of 6 posts by the end of the day April 29 A total of 8 posts by the end of the day April 29 Expectations for blog posting during the intensive will be explained at the start of the intensive. Posts should: -Be a chance for you to ‘test-drive’ your ideas about the epic, including ideas that might be potential topics for the final in-class writing during the intensive. -Be at least 250 words long, and written in standard, well-punctuated and well-capitalized English (not txt msg abbrev) -Explore the topic or question at hand in a thoughtful way -Respond to the thread of conversation about each topic, not merely repeat the ideas of earlier posters -Provide a forum for personal reflection on the reading and/or connections to pop culture or current events, if you so desire -Serve as a springboard for conversation in class Posts will receive a 10 point homework grade each, based on these criteria.
