cheating.
Odysseus would to most be considered a good if not great husband to Penelope. I disagree though because through out his travels I feel that he cheats on her. I understand that some of you might say that he did it because he had to get home to her, but if so why would he have stayed with Circe so long? I understand that he made a deal with her, but I didn't realize that meant a year, once or twice is perfectly fine if it is to save his crew and himself so that eventually he can get home however, staying for a year shows how unconcerned he is about Penelope. Maybe he does miss her and he only stays with these women to numb the pain. I just feel like that seems a little far fetched for a man of his status, he plays off that he is extremely brave and even caring, but at points his stories really fall flat and seem to mean close to nothing when it comes down to it. And this whole idea goes back to what Aric and Beatrice were saying about how it is the hierarchy problem with men and women, the women can not do anything while the men can flaunt around with other women who aren’t their wives without punishment, they are not even looked down upon. I just feel like if Odysseus is going to cheat on Penelope through out all those years he is away then, Penelope should be able to cheat on him, she is lonely too.
