Telemachus is...

Branching off what Kasey said about whether or not Telemachus is truly brave, i think he is. Can you imagine risking your life and going against everything you have been doing, just because someone advised it? Because in the very beginning Telemachus listens to a complete stranger without even truly thinking it over or planning it out any differently then, the stranger says. i mean, yes the stranger, Mentes is really the Goddess Athena, but before Telemachus even figures this out he still is listening to her. I think that Telemachus going out on a limb like this to save someone who he isn't even really sure if he is his father. Even if you factor in the fact that he has a goddess on his side helping him the entire time it is still a very risky and brave, especially considering there is a god against him and Odysseus, Poseidon. For the part about Menter convincing Telemachus to speak with Nestor, i disagree that that shows bravery, that had to be nerve racking. Nestor is very wise and powerful and Telemachus just wants to have a good first impression on him so he is nervous about their first meeting. Try to put yourself in his shoes, your dad is one of the most loved and respected people around and your his son who is very little known, but wants desperately to live up to his dad. I realize that some people disagree, but Telemachus is very brave and i give him a lot of credit for even attempting this.
